Edible Surprise

This picture was taken when I was helping my parents make this kinds of

edible beauty. At first it look liked it had nothing but a few things on it, then

after adding a few more it looked so lively. I took a picture of it because it seem

really delightful, and I kind of liked it (I mean any body would) also it something that my parents do us their own little business.

u GUYS ALL KNOW how i am; very moody and stuff, but when i took this picture in Delaware, i was calm, relaxed which is very weird... It was a sad moment for me but the colors on the sky cheared me up a bit when i flipped through the pictures

This door was part of one of the outbuildings on the property.  The dull, greenish gray color of the door really stood out against the brown wood frame and the red-orange bricks. There are so many types of lines competing for attention. The horizontal lines on the door itself are in the shape of rectangles, while the the lines on the brown door frame run vertical.

What's THAT?!

As part of our, "What's THAT?!" photo theme, I re-posted one of my favorite photos that I took earlier in the year: the picture of the hand sanitizer bottle. I pointed the lens into the bottle and focused on the gel. The sanitizer bottle is clear and so it picked up the colors that reflected around it including the brown table top and a piece of purple paper. I think that the varying sizes of the bubbles in the gel are visually interesting and the color of the gel contrasts nicely against the translucent gray white color of the bottle.

Happy New Year! It is not uncommon for many folks to vow to eat better when a new year comes around. When you look at the beautiful colors in this salad, how can you NOT want to do so? Our Sony Cybershot 12 megapixel cameras have a food setting that truly brings out the depth and texture of the food colors.  As we begin our new year and wrap up quarter 2, we will continue to post a variety of student photos here.

This specific photo was taken by one of our students, Vanessa for our GLTS Night School brochure which features culinary classes.

I took this photo in Boston on a parking lot next to Childrens Hospital. I loved the view of the buildings and how you could see all the roof tops. It was hard taking the pictures because it was very cold and very windy that day. I also like how you can see all the lines and shapes that are created from the buildings.

I took this photo during an in-school field trip in Mr. Adalpe's classroom. I chose this photo based soley on the repetition of chairs. I like how the chairs are neatly aligned in rows. I also love how the natural light affects the colors in the classroom.

I chose this photo because I like how the reflection of the tree is on the water. The leaves make a nice contrast. The ground is all black,textured and filled with dirt and the leaves have an orange glow so they really stand out.

I took this picture because the rough texture really caught my eye. I took this picture in a in school field trip. If you were to guess what this is a picture of you will probably get it wrong. This is a picture of a wall.

This picture was taken while the class went outside to take pictures for an in school field trip. I chose this picture because of the crimson red color, the repetition of the leaves and the texture. Despite the day being kind of cloudy, this picture came out better than I expencted. Of all the photos that I took that day, this is my favorite.

I took this image outside of the school. I put my camera in a bush and took a close up on the berries in there. I thought it was cool how the camera focused on some of the berries while others were blurry. I also liked how it showed repetion of the circle shapes; taking pictures of shapes is one of my favorite things to do.

I chose this photo because it is a great photo of the sunset. I took this picture at 4:30 which is when the sun is setting. I took this by my house. I live next to a field and when I look outside my window, this is what I see and so I zoomed in and took this picture with the camera . I like how the gray sky contrasts with the trees and the sun. The colors are bright near the sun and a littledarker as you move away from the sun.

I choose to write about this photo because it's interesting and I think it looks cool. What I like about it is that the bottle cap is burried half-way into the ground and some of the grass in front of the image is blurry so you can only see three little pieces of it. It just looks like someone stepped on the cap in order to make look that way. The angle of picture looks like it was too close to the ground and yet close enough to take the picture.

This image was taken in a trip to our school's back yard. We took pictures all around the outside of the school. I took this picture while I was on my knees looking up at an angle. I chose this image because of its contrast in colors. The flowers, my subject of the picture, are clearly what the image is being focused on and stands out easily from the background. It is easy to see the contrast of the yellow colored flowers against the deep blue sky.

I chose this picture because I love my phone and my iPod. I especially like the way the headphone wires are shaped into a heart. I also like the placement of the phone and the ipod; it's as if they're part of the heart. The reflection on the faces of both the iPod and the phone brings light into the image which provides a nice contrast to the overall darkness. Also the texture of the wood provides visual interest.

I chose this image because its not the clearest picture. I took this picture as I was doing the exercise of spinning and posibly capturing a good shot.

I chose this picture because when I took this picture I did not notice the lights reflecting off the hood. Then I noticed how the lights show repetition and shiny smooth texture.

The reason I took this picture is because of the many color options.
Also because of the angle I had taken it in seems to make the colors run on
continuously like they never end. Another is because of the repetition of the
squares of colors.

We are in the last week of the quarter and students are busy, busy, busy working on their end of quarter project. We will resume posting photos here on Monday, November 9th.
